It was volunteerism that originally brought Mainsprings Founder and CEO Chris Gates to Tanzania. And it was his summers working with a boy’s home in Mwanza, Tanzania that inspired him to start Mainsprings. That’s why Mainsprings is pleased to welcome school partners and volunteers to our campus several times a year.
EXPERIENCE MAINSPRINGS TRIPS
We are excited to offer 10-day Experience Mainsprings trips three times a year for individuals, students, and families who are interested in coming to our campus. These trips give you a taste of everything that Mainsprings has to offer, and allow you travel with a Mainsprings staff person if you choose. Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to accommodate long-term volunteer trips.

Experience Mainsprings 2: July 18-29
Experience Mainsprings 3: December (dates TBD, during Mainsprings Graduation)
Active supporters of Mainsprings may contact us about the possibility of visiting our campus at other times.
Students in high school are eligible to travel on an Experience Mainsprings Trip. However, spots for students are limited and filled through an application process. Acceptance decisions begin in January. Summer trips are usually full by early spring.
Mainsprings works with nearly 10 different school partners who send groups of students and faculty each year to volunteer and learn at our campus. If you are a school group, please contact us for more information, as we have a separate handbook for schools and students.
Mainsprings has three college internships available for the summer of 2018. Application deadline in December 31, 2017.
