More than 33,000 patients for every doctor. That’s the staggering statistic a patient faces when they need urgent medical help. Good health and well-being are essential for a community to thrive, which is why Mainsprings opened a small clinic on our flagship campus in Kitongo. We partner with the Tanzanian government and other organizations to provide accessible healthcare for our community. Currently, Mainsprings: Kitongo has a full-time nurse and hosts a government doctor three days a week in its clinic.

However, clinical treatment is not the only focus of our healthcare initiatives. Several times throughout the year, Mainsprings staff provide valuable health education for our staff, students, and community members on topics such as malaria, waterborne diseases, basic hygiene, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS, among many other things.
