Knowledge is power, and the girls in our home, as well as the students in our local community, needed a strong educational foundation to enter adulthood and lead their communities.  Starting with just a few grades in 2010, Mainspring’s Joseph and Mary Schools now serve more than 400 students from Early Childhood through Secondary School.

Compared to the roughly half of students nationally that don’t proceed past the seventh grade, our schools boast a top-ranked education while also focusing on making learning fun and hands-on. Unlike many traditional schools in Tanzania, the Joseph and Mary Schools focus on the development of each student as a whole in addition to the traditional academic subjects. With sports (including the only tennis court in the district), extracurricular activities, a state-of-the-art science lab, career days, and future planning, our students are receiving everything they need to lead a successful life.
